Low Cost Adaptive Uterine Manipulator for Pelvic Laparoscopic Surgery
نویسنده
چکیده
In this article we’ll present an original uterine manipulator, very useful for pelvic surgery, especially for laparoscopic hysterectomies. There is a great diversity of uterine manipulators at present on the medical market, whichever making a manipulation of the uterus, a vaginal defining the seabed bag, ensuring the definition of anatomical elements for a quick and safe intervention. They can be for a single use or sterilizable, they have different degrees of constructive complexity and different reliability. Every manipulator type has specific advantages and disadvantages compared to others. Our uterine manipulator has also some specific advantages over the manipulators we find on the market. These other uterine manipulators are briefly presented in the first section of the paper, for comparison reasons. Then our uterine manipulator and its parts are presented in details. Its advantages are: adaptive cup size and position, unbreakable, easy to clean and sterilize not conductive cup, increased reliability, low cost etc. This original uterine manipulator was used in many types of pelvic and uterine surgery, where it proved to be very effective and reliable. The paper presents also some pictures taken from these surgeries.

Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy versus Vaginal Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is one of the commonest gynecological operations. The outcomes following vaginal hysterectomy have been proved to be better than those following abdominal hysterectomy. Since the availability and widespread use of laparoscopic hysterectomy, the mode of hysterectomy is an issue of debate in cases of non prolapsed uteri, amongst proponents of vaginal and laparoscopic surgery. Laparos...

Women with a secondor third-degree uterine prolapse were excluded, as were those with a uterine mass greater than the size of a 12-week pregnancy. Also excluded were women with a medical illness that precluded laparoscopic surgery, and those who required bladder or other pelvic support s...

Aim. To describe a new technique of uterine manipulation in laparoscopic management of pelvic cancers. Material and Methods. We used a novel uterine hitch technique in 23 patients from May 2008 to October 2008. These patients underwent pelvic oncologic surgery including laparoscopic radical hysterectomy (n = 7), laparoscopic anterior resection (n = 4), laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection (n...

We report a case of port-site metastasis after laparoscopic surgery for early stage uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS) and review the related literature. A 53-year-old woman with suspected uterine malignance underwent a total laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, infra-colic omentectomy, and pelvic lymphadenectomy resulting pathologically in a stage IA UCS. Twelve months lat...
